Over the past few weeks the whole Design Office team have been extremely busy working on a variety of large scale products so this week we are taking the time to reflect on some of the fantastic projects we have been privileged to be a part of.
Shredding UK Truck
The first is the fantastic vehicle wrap that we designed, printed and fit for Shredding UK. However, unlike many of the vehicle graphics we have previously worked on for our clients, this project involved a 6 metre long truck. We were really excited by this opportunity and wanted to create something unique that would help their truck stand out from the rest when on the road, so rather than creating vinyl lettering from the truck and the cab we decided to design a full wrap. The design consisted of a large image of shredded paper with personalised writing to display Shredding UKs key messages, as well as a solid blue shape to encase the Shredding UK logo and contact details. A simple design was created for the cab comprising of a curved solid blue strip with the logo overlaid, to compliment the shape of both the logomark and the cab itself.
Once approved, the graphics were then printed onto vinyl and vehicle wrap material using our Seiko Large Format Printing Press and fit by our sign fitter in just over one working day!
Turnkey Exhibition Stand
Another of our clients, Turnkey Instruments Ltd., have been preparing to exhibit at HillHead 2016 and for the past couple of months have been working with the team here at Design Office to create the exhibition stand that they have taken with them. The process included; purchasing a 10m x 4m gantry stand, complete with spotlights, a selection of individual, lockable pods with table tops and a cupboard; powder coating all of the components black to match the brand; creating stunning graphics to be printed and applied to the stand, as well as the panels on the individual pods, and providing touch screens with interactive graphics and data sheets to display all of Turnkey’s products.
This project was very exciting for Design Office as not only was it on a large scale but it gave us the opportunity to work as a whole team on a project and show our diversity as a business and how many different sectors we have the capability of working in.
Recycling UK Signs
In the middle of our final week working on Turnkey, another of our clients, Recycling UK, approached us about some large, di-bond exterior signs that they wanted completing for an upcoming event at The New Saints Football Club in Oswestry. Of course we were more than happy to work on these signs as well, so in between assembling gantry stands and printing large format graphics to suit, we also designed and printed more large format graphics for the Recycling UK Group and applied these to pieces of di-bond ready to be fitted together to produce some stunning 6 and 7 meter long signs.
The signs were designed, printed, laminated and made up in just a couple of days, and on the morning of the event two members of our team delivered the signs at the Football Club in Oswestry and used a cherry picker to fit the impressive signs in various locations in and around the club.
Market Centre Peep Board
A more unusual request for Design Office has been the peep board that we have been working on this week. Over the next couple of months The Market Centre in Crewe are looking to run a competition that uses a peep board and encourages families or friends to take their pictures using the peep board and share them on social media. The images will then be added to an album on The Market Centre Facebook page, free for anybody to like. The image with the most likes on 12th September will be the winning picture and the individuals featured will win a family day out.
The first step was to create a fabulous graphic that would form the basis of this competition. As the Olympic Games start on 5th August The Market Centre wanted a graphic that would represent the games. Therefore our talented team here at Design Office created a fantastic illustration featuring three figures receiving their gold, silver and bronze medals on the podium. The bodies used in the illustration clearly represent an adult male, a young girl and a small boy, a selection of characters that are sure to encourage a family to get involved in the fun. Of course the faces have been removed and replaced with an oval hole, offering the opportunity for anybody to peep through and get into character.
Once the design had been approved it was up to the Design Office team to print and laminate the graphics using our Large Format Seiko Printing Press and apply them to two large foamex boards that would later be framed within a lightweight but sturdy frame to ensure that the peep board is durable and remains upright when in use.
This is just a sample of projects that we have been working on over the past few weeks, but as you can start to imagine, we truly are a one-stop shop and while we are a small team we definitely have the facilities and the skills to professionally and creatively manage large scale projects.
