This morning Design Office have delivered 2000 brochures to another happy customer!

Over the past two weeks Design Office have been busy designing and producing some stunning new brochures for Combermere Abbey to promote their wedding venue at an event this weekend.

The Combermere Abbey Estate sits on the borders of Shropshire and Cheshire between the market towns of Nantwich and Whitchurch. It has been an important contribution to the history of Cheshire and the North West since 1133 and remains to be an inspiration for many.

Since its establishment as a Cistercian Monastery and then as home to the Cotton (Combermere) and Crossley families, it has entertained many well known personalities, and continues to do so today. Currently it continues as a private family home, but welcomes visitors in groups or on specific days by appointment.

The Estate has an active organic farm, and its unusual listed buildings have been transformed into award winning holiday cottages and a fabulous wedding venue.

We wanted to make sure that the brochures we created reflected the luxury of the venue itself, so our creative team worked together to design a bespoke, 16 page brochure with a hand-folded and glued pocket on the inside of the back cover, to hold individual brochures for other facilities at the Estate.

A picture speaks a thousand words, so when designing the brochure each spread was designed to include a full page image, as well as a collection of smaller thumbnails to visually tell the story of what your special day could be like, should you choose Combermere Abbey as your wedding venue.

To accompany the images, small amounts of text were included to describe what your wedding could be like, including just enough detail about each element to entice you to turn the page and continue reading. The text was kept to a minimum in two, clean columns, forming a clean grid to compliment the square design of the brochure. To subtly introduce Combermere’s brand onto each page, without overusing the quatrafoil design in their logo, our creative team used the script font and green Pantone colour used in the logo to create headings for each double page spread. A small copy of the logo appears at the bottom of the pages throughout the brochure, while a large ‘W’ appears as a watermark in the background to compliment the ‘Weddings’ title on the front cover.

The cover itself was kept simple; using white space we were able to make a feature of the Combermere logo, ensuring that the brand took all the attention. To add an extra layer of luxury on the outer cover, we finished each brochure with a matt lamination and spot UV varnish on another ‘W’ watermark, creating a high impact cover in a very delicate way.
